In Myanmar the game of badminton started in 1910. Looking back the growth process of Badminton, we will come to know how it has developed step by step. The game of badminton is not Myanmar traditional game and this kind of game has not been played before colonialism in Myanmar. The British were the people who brought the seeds of badminton game to grow in Myanmar during the British colonial regime.

At first, The British family especially the Christian ladies started playing badminton and later British men participated to play badminton. Hence, the British officers played badminton in their resident compound for their health purpose.
